FIRE & VOLCANOES - PELE's BROTHERS
The Wheel of Life act brings the legend of Pele, the goddess of volcanoes,
and her heroic brothers to life. Pele, representing destruction and renewal,
creates land through her fiery lava. Her brothers, embodiments of strength and
protection, walk through fire unharmed, safeguarding the land and its people.
Their costumes carry protective spirits, symbolizing hope and courage. In the
story, Pele kills her lover, Lohi‘au, with a lava flow, but her brothers restore
him to life. They show their mastery by surfing lava flows, thriving in fire and
demonstrating their role as guardians, balancing destruction with renewal. The
Wheel of Life is a heart-stopping act showcasing incredible bravery, strength,
and balance. Performers run, jump, and perform daring stunts on a giant rotating
wheel, suspended high above the stage. As the wheel spins faster, the intensity
escalates, leaving audiences on the edge of their seats with each gravity-defying
move. It’s a thrilling display of human skill and courage.
