Contortion with Bowls

None

As defined with the Umbrella Act, the Contortion with Bowls performance is/was an act-in-rotation, which only went on if a main performance could not. The Contortion with Bowls was part of the second cast of Dralion and can still be seen with the show depending on the casts touring. The act features two young gril contorting their bodies around one another in an attempt to keep a series of bowls placed upon their heads from falling. An ancient Chinese circus performance! "Ombra" had originally accompanied the Umbrella Foot Juggling act (an alternate act), but when the second phase of Chinese artists arrived, the song was used for the Contortion with Bowls act. Beautifully sung by Agnès Sohier, the lyrics are an interesting combination of Italian and English.
