Experience
Flying Man in Silk
(Special | Mar.22.1996 - Dec.25.1996 (Main); Jan.2003 - Sept.2003 (Reserve))

Strong yet tender, powerful yet light, natural yet surreal - the Flying Man shuns open shows of strength in favour of the more subtle artistry evoked by sensual masculine movement and the rich flow of silk.

During Alegría's first trip to Japan/Hong Kong in 1996, Cirque du Soleil presented a "Flying Man in Silk" act by Russian artist Yuri Maiorov. He continued to perform this act through Hong Kong 1996 but did not continue with the show after. In 1998 he began performing in Cirque du Soleil's Orlando resident show, La Nouba, where he can still be seen today.

In 2003, Ebon Grayman, who had been performing the character of Fleur, created and performed his own Flying Man in Silk act. Although no longer performed (since Ebon has moved on from Cirque), Ebon's act was not only full of strength, but undenying grace.
